<h4>Adrien Pelletier è una figura affascinante, in un panorama artistico contemporaneo che a volte sembra perdere i suoi confini. Esplora la vulnerabilità, la bellezza del corpo umano, con una sensibilità che è quasi un’invocazione.&nbsp;</h4>



<p>Adrien Pelletier si è formato al Central Saint Martins e al Royal College of Art, e con il tempo, ha trasformato questa esperienza – il rigore accademico, il metodo – in un viaggio attraverso la pelle e l’anima, verso luoghi remoti. La sua carriera come direttore artistico per riviste di moda ha allenato il suo occhio, lo ha educato a vedere oltre, a vedere dentro. Quella stessa abilità ora la applica ai suoi <a href="https://www.atelieradrienp.fr" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">dipinti</a>, incantando lo spettatore con storie che non usano parole.</p>

<h4>I quadri di Adrien Pelletier sono come immagini di un angolo remoto del mondo, dove il tempo sembra piegarsi e le convenzioni svaniscono; si erge un’isola che invita alla nudità, non solo del corpo ma anche dell’anima. Quella che forse dovremmo tutti abbracciare.&nbsp;</h4>



<p>Adrien Pelletier ritrae corpi nudi che si stagliano in contesti intimi, immersi nella natura. Adrien dipinge ogni figura come un riflesso della psiche umana, e lo fa con la grazia di chi osserva senza giudicare.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Qui, sulla tela, l’Île du Levant emerge come un luogo sospeso, un’isola dove il tempo si piega, e i corpi respirano liberi, di una nudità che non è solo del corpo ma dell’anima. I suoi pennelli danzano, catturano i momenti fugaci, tracciano storie fatte di sguardi, di ombre, di desideri. Ogni colpo di pennello è un atto di resistenza contro l’effimero, un tentativo di trattenere ciò che, inevitabilmente, si dissolve nella memoria.</p>



<p>Le sue opere non sono semplici rappresentazioni fisiche; sono narrazioni di desiderio, di vulnerabilità, di sospensione nel tempo. Adrien non dipinge solo corpi: dipinge emozioni. Dipinge il momento in cui ci si scopre fragili, il momento in cui si è autentici. Ogni figura racconta di un’umanità disarmata, di emozioni trattenute, quasi sussurrate, tra il battito di un attimo e il silenzio della natura.</p>

<p>Nella sua arte, la nudità è un linguaggio. Diventa un linguaggio capace di rivelare l’essenza di chi vi si presta. Attraverso quella lente personale, Adrien affronta il tema della sessualità, dell’identità, delle dinamiche che attraversano le relazioni umane. Ogni opera è un mausoleo di esperienze, una storia a sé stante, un racconto di ciò che è stato e di ciò che poteva essere. È una testimonianza di vita vissuta, una celebrazione delle fragilità condivise, di quella bellezza effimera che abita ogni istante.</p>



<p>Adrien invita lo spettatore a scoprire qualcosa di sé, a riconoscere nella vulnerabilità dei suoi soggetti una riflessione di quella stessa vulnerabilità che abita in lui, in chi guarda. La sua pratica artistica è un atto di ribellione contro il tempo che consuma ogni cosa, un tentativo di dare forma a ciò che è destinato a svanire. </p>



<h4>Ogni opera non è solo un’immagine, ma un invito: a esplorare, a fermarsi, a domandarsi. Adrien crea un ponte tra il sogno e la realtà, tra l’ombra e la luce, lasciando un’impronta che sfida il tempo, un segno che si fissa nel cuore di chi osserva.</h4>



<p>L’arte è il suo rifugio. L’arte è il suo sussurro. Un richiamo che attraversa il tempo.</p>

<p><strong>Puoi parlarci del tuo percorso educativo al Central Saint Martins e al Royal College of Art? Come hanno influenzato la tua evoluzione artistica?</strong></p>



<p>Entrambi questi college mi hanno offerto un fantastico terreno di gioco per sviluppare le mie capacità nel graphic design, nel design editoriale e nella realizzazione di film. Il loro approccio al design è molto diverso da quello delle scuole francesi: si tratta di trovare la propria voce e mettere in discussione i modi in cui comprendiamo il design, affrontando un progetto. </p>



<h4>Siamo stati incoraggiati a sperimentare, provare ogni tipo di cosa e a non avere paura di &#8220;fallire&#8221;.</h4>

<p><strong>Hai lavorato come direttore artistico per riviste di moda per 15 anni. Per quali riviste hai lavorato? Quali ricordi hai di quel periodo? Come ha influenzato questa esperienza la tua pratica pittorica?</strong></p>



<p>Ho iniziato come stagista per Jop Van Bennekom su Butt Magazine e Fantastic Man. Aveva tenuto una conferenza al Saint Martins ed era il mio assoluto eroe. Ero entusiasta di assisterlo nella creazione del primo numero di Fantastic Man. Così mi sono trasferito per alcuni mesi ad Amsterdam. Successivamente, ho lavorato per Arena Hommes Plus, Esquire, GQ, Love e Harper’s Bazaar a Londra. </p>



<p>In quel periodo non dipingevo più, nonostante avessi prodotto grandi dipinti astratti da adolescente. Quando studiavo graphic design, avevo questa idea sciocca che avessi bisogno di un lavoro &#8220;reale&#8221; e che non potessi essere un artista. </p>

<p>Questa idea probabilmente deriva dall&#8217;educazione nelle scuole di design, che ti insegnano a rispondere a un progetto, avere un cliente e gestire un progetto. </p>



<h4>Uso ancora le mie abilità di direzione artistica nella pittura, influenzando la preparazione di ogni progetto, la selezione delle immagini da dipingere e il modo in cui lavoro. </h4>



<p>Attualmente lavoro per Marie Claire France, dopo una pausa di tre anni dedicati alla mia pratica artistica.</p>

<p><strong>Molti dei tuoi dipinti ritraggono amici, amanti e sconosciuti. Cosa cerchi di trasmettere attraverso questi ritratti intimi?</strong></p>



<p>Ho ricominciato a dipingere durante una vacanza estiva. Ero sull&#8217;Île du Levant, un&#8217;isola naturista nel sud della Francia, e sono rimasto colpito dalla bellezza dei corpi nudi dei miei amici in questo ambiente lussureggiante. </p>



<h4>Era un momento di vulnerabilità e incredibile libertà: essere nudi e permettermi di dipingere di nuovo, senza temere alcun giudizio.</h4>

<p><strong>Come definisci il tuo stile, che sembra oscillare tra approcci naïf, documentaristici ed espressionisti?</strong></p>



<p>Vedo il mio stile cambiare costantemente e non mi preoccupo troppo. Mi sento influenzato dal post-impressionismo, dall&#8217;espressionismo e dall&#8217;era di Instagram. Lavoro principalmente su formati piccoli per dipingere rapidamente ovunque. Il mio stile si evolve anche in funzione dei soggetti, passando dal dipingere il qui e ora al lavorare da fotografie che scatto io stesso.</p>

<p><strong>Nel rappresentare i corpi dai voce a una vulnerabilità che trascende il fisico. Credi che attraverso la nudità si possa rivelare l&#8217;anima dei tuoi soggetti?</strong></p>



<p>Ci sono molti tipi di nudità, ognuna con significati diversi: vulnerabilità, potere, attrazione. La nudità non rivela necessariamente l&#8217;anima, ma piuttosto la posizione di una persona nel mondo.</p>

<p><strong>In molte delle tue opere, sessualità e vulnerabilità sembrano intrecciate. Come bilanci questi aspetti nella tua arte?</strong></p>



<p>Questo aspetto mi interessa molto. Dipingo non solo le persone, ma lo spazio tra di noi, fisico e mentale. Il momento di vulnerabilità esiste anche in persone sicure di sé, e include elementi di fiducia e bisogno di validazione, ma anche di empowerment.</p>

<p>Cerco momenti di tensione, che possono rappresentare nostalgia, frustrazione o celebrazione. Uso la mia pratica artistica per mappare la mia vita, affrontando temi di confronto e aspettative nella comunità gay.</p>

<p>Recentemente ho adottato un approccio documentaristico, che non ho ancora mostrato. Nel 2020 sono stato a Rio per una residenza artistica, per seguire alcuni attivisti. Vorrei combinare interviste e ritratti, avvicinandomi al reportage.</p>

<p><strong>Le tue opere sembrano danzare con l&#8217;idea degli amori consumati e dei paradisi perduti. Credi che l&#8217;arte possa ripristinare un senso di integrità a ciò che rimane frammentato nella vita?</strong></p>



<p>Credo che la mia arte sia una sorta di mausoleo, un&#8217;interpretazione di ricordi che rivisitano il passato. È un tentativo fallito di raggiungere l&#8217;integrità, ma significativo.</p>

<p>La gouache è versatile e facile da usare, asciuga rapidamente e permette di essere rielaborata con l&#8217;acqua. Amo la densità dei pigmenti e la finitura opaca, oltre alla praticità che mi permette di dipingere ovunque.</p>

<p>Non ci penso davvero; dipingo semplicemente ciò che voglio dipingere, che può essere una vecchia signora per strada, un amico o un amante. Probabilmente cambierà nel tempo.</p>

<p><strong>Hai dipinto in luoghi come l&#8217;Île du Levant, nota per il legame con il nudismo. Come influisce il contesto di queste località sulla tua arte? Pratichi naturismo?</strong></p>



<p>L&#8217;Île du Levant mi ha fatto guardare il corpo nudo in modo diverso, fuori da un contesto sessuale, con un effetto liberatorio e politico. È stato importante per me dipingere persone care in questo ambiente speciale.</p>

<p>Sì, cerco di catturare momenti che altrimenti svanirebbero. Il mio lavoro è un album di ricordi che desidero preservare.</p>

<p><strong>Come percepisci la relazione tra arte e sessualità nelle tue opere, particolarmente nel contesto dell&#8217;arte queer?</strong></p>



<p>Penso di essere ancora in un processo di accettazione della mia sessualità, eliminando lo stigma dell&#8217;omofobia. </p>



<h4>Dipingere corpi sessuali è un&#8217;affermazione di vita e aiuta anche altre persone ad accogliere questo tipo di bellezza.</h4>

<p><strong>Hai detto che i tuoi dipinti cercano di catturare qualcosa di già perso o mai veramente esistito. Come si riflette questo concetto nel tuo approccio alla nudità e all&#8217;identità?</strong></p>



<p>Quando dipingo un momento passato, la mia identità è già cambiata rispetto a quando è accaduto. La nudità è un&#8217;illusione di sincerità, ma in realtà non esiste onestà assoluta in una pittura: cambio i colori, la luce, le proporzioni.</p>

<p><strong>Ogni pennellata nei tuoi quadri sembra respirare malinconia e passione. C&#8217;è qualche emozione particolare che cerchi di evocare nei tuoi spettatori?</strong></p>



<p>Di solito comprendo le emozioni dei miei dipinti solo a lavoro finito, e spesso le scopro attraverso le reazioni degli spettatori, cosa che mi rende felice.</p>
